On 3rd of July-15, HBP team organized play for peace activities to tent school team. The training was organized at the training center of FSL-India, Kundapur. We started activities by introducing core values of the activities.
In the month of June, FSL India hosted 05 Long Term Volunteers from 3 different countries (France, Estonia, and Austria). Every day evening we have organised different events for the exchange of Intercultural learning. First day was traditional Indian welcome , all the volunteers had chance to have Henna, Meanwhile volunteers had the opportunity to test their skills by working in a project for the half day during the week. Volunteers were also presented the facts and figures of their counties to the school children during “Country Presentation” session. They had chance to saw the Cultural dance “Baratanatya”. They cooked there country food and shared with Indians.
On 3rd July HBP team from FSL Kundapura organized a demonstration on preparing Jeevamrutha (Organic manure for Plants) to HBP, LTV and training center staff. Tent school teachers, Tent school volunteers and other HBP volunteers also participated. Mr. Padmanabha Adiga, organic farmer from Bhatrdi, was the resource person to prepare jeevamrutha and explained about materials needed, steps to be followed and procedure to prepare Jeevamrutha.
This workcamp took place in Kundapur from 1st to 13th of June 2015 and we developed the activities to focusing on SAP-K related are as follows:
– Hands-on experience on sustainable agriculture techniques, such as maintenance of trenches for water harvesting, compost tank activities, weeding of vegetable garden.
I came to India on the 31. of September.My first project was not working correctly so I changed and came to Hunsur in my current project and host family.
Cursing on the Power cuts is not the solution for the days to come…. and it is not mere the dream to have the electricity throughout the day during summer. How? The solution was from the scorching sun during summer particularly in Tamil Nadu…. yes it is through SOLAR POWER.
The CSR collaboration of FSL India and Apollo Tyres outlay the plan for various programs towards improving health conditions, hygienic conditions of community and school; further attempting to increase the awareness on menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls and personal hygiene among community in three villages – Oragadam, Sennakuppam and Mathur located in Sriperumbudur taluk of Kancheepuram district.
A ‘Dream Village’ turn to be a ‘Green village’…. it cannot be a Green in Dream but the village in green!!
FSL INDIA reached its milestone in CSR tie up with corporate by signing MOU with Apollo Tyres. The collaboration harness the corporate social responsibility towards the villages such as Oragadam, Sennakuppam and Mathur near Apollo tyres in Sriperumbudur, Kancheepuram district. The tie up works towards improving the Health condition of the people; increasing the awareness level of personal and menstrual hygiene among people particularly women. The efforts towards the health and hygienic perspective kick starts from this month, JUNE 2015 onwards till March 2016.
Appropriate Technology is the Technology developed with the available resource and to be used day to day life such as preparing roof or door mat with used tetra packs, hand sanitizer with lemon and eucalyptus leaves etc. These technologies were developed and promoted by the Korean volunteers in few villages located in and around of Hysco company located in Thiruvallur District through the CSR initiative of HYSCO company and FSL India. HYSCO company and FSL India moves further to emphasize the sustainable use of technologies among the community, so that the benefit of the community will be visualized.
