Last week, a lot a volunteers from FSL India went to Mysore for the Dushara Festival. I was one among them, and I am happy that I’ve not have missed it!
“Go Green, Plant Green”: Winter camp at Kundapura….
Winter camp was held at Kundapura training center from 12th to 27th October 2015. Volunteers from regular teaching and orphan teaching participated in this camp and HBP organized it. The activities were mainly related to sustainable agriculture and, in total, 17 volunteers took part in it. Staff from HBP, work camp and LTV supported the camp.
Vijaya dhasmi (Dusshera)
Vijaya dhasmi (Dusshera) ” The victory of good over the evil” Dusshera is also known as Vijaya dhasmi. Dusshera word derived from two word – “Dus” mean ten and “hera” mean defeat symbolizing the killing ten- headed king Ravana by Lord Rama.
DREAM VILLAGE PROJECT (DVP) in VALLAKOTTAI
On 12th October 2015 an inaugural function and program of Dream Village Project organized by FSL- India in Vallakottai village. Hyundai Motors India supports this project. Vallakottai panchayat village has been selected for this project activity for 6 months project period with different components such as Renovation, Livestock promotion, Awareness on Water & Sanitation, Health & Hygiene, Livelihood Programs, Skill Training & Entrepreneur Development Programs.
Save Plants ; Save Earth: Environment session at Green Valley School.
On 16th October FSL-India Kundapura winter camp volunteers participated in an Environment session at Green Vally school in Shiroor. Principal of the school, other staff and students welcomed volunteers with garland and flowers. Principal explained volunteers about school and activities conducted at School.
Great work by volunteer Lukas Weskamp- Baby Sarah’s Home, Stephen raj
Mr. Lukas Weskamp, Germany provided his valuable service in our home for the orphan and destitute, children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities by teaching, assisted in special school, trained our students in various games and recreational activities, contributed in various events organized by our Organization during the service, and involved in the daily routine activities of our home and in various recreational activities for the orphan children. Assisted our Special Educators by taking our children…
Training on terrace gardening
On Monday October 19th, our training center staff attended a training conveyed by Mr. Doreswamy on terrace gardening. We learnt how important this type of cultivation and it does not requires large land. It might be a new trend but it is very helpful for people to grow their own vegetables, fruits and flowers in an organic and sustainable way.
Film Screening program in Sennakupam village on Health and Hygiene
FSL-India, Chennai facility has organized a film screening at Sennakuppam village under one of our CSR activities of Helath and hygiene on 17th October 2015. The film is about ‘Health and Hygiene’’ and also how the diseases spread through open defecation. There are 80 people participated including children.
LTV orientation, October- Bangalore
In the month of October, FSL India hosted 10 Long Term Volunteers from 5 different countries (Germany, Austria, France, Sweden, and Turkey).
EXPOSURE VISIT OF SAP TEAM TO KVK BRAHMAVAR
Krishi Vijnana Kendra Brahmavar is the Government Agricultural Department in the district which is research and training center about integrated agriculture. SAP-K team members visited on 7th October to have an exposure visit on agriculture practices and to have different discussions with the staff of KVK in order to work together for different events.
