The first Nest of the Season
On Sunday morning, October 12th , the first turtle nest of the season was found on the Beach of Gangolli by a Contact Person who informed FSL. On the same day the FSL-team went to Gangolli to observe the nest. After having a glance at the nest and the turtle tracks, the species was identified as Olive Ridley.
While discussing the construction of the hatchery with the Forest Department, it was decided to set it up the following day with the help of the volunteers of the Sea-Turtle Workcamp. On Monday in the early evening the hatchery was built with the help of locals and FSL-team and we hope to have a lot of hatchling around the first week of December.
