My experiences by Elisabeth Lichtenthaeler

I really like my project so far. My host family cares about me and when I need help they help me. For me not just my host father and my host mother are my family. I am living in the project and that’s why the whole staff team seems to be part of my family.

VOLUNTEER-INDIA

At Wednesday the school started and I am so happy with my work. I really enjoy working with the children. I teach in standard 3 to 7 five days a week. I am going to have a regular timetable next week. My contact person is really caring and helpful. Whenever I have a problem I can speak to her and she will be there for me.VOLUNTEER INDIA
I enjoy being in India and I really adore the rain and the people! At the weekend I spend most of the time on the sunny roof enjoying the weather, the palms and reading a book.
The days are really short because I am enjoying everything: teaching at weekdays and relaxing at the weekend.
I am here now for more than 60 days but there is no sadness or homesickness.
The teachers in the school are friendly and helpful. The children are always happy and make me smile. Till this week I worked in the summer project: a women project.
I attended a tailoring class and met many young and old women.

There are many things I learned till now and I think there will be much more at the end of the year!
I just can say I am totally happy with my family, my project and with India. Furthermore I am really happy that I decided to come to India because of all the experiences!
