Hello, my name is Kayley and I am a Volunteer from Germany. I will be living and working in India for one year to participate in an intercultural program with AFS Germany and FSL India. Currently I am in my third month here.
Nearly half of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to under nutrition. This translates into the unnecessary loss of about 3 million young lives a year. Under nutrition puts children at greater risk of dying from common infections, increases the frequency and severity of such infections, and contributes to delayed recovery.
As every year, Flora and Fauna Club- Kundapur invited us for the annual meet-up of eco-clubs. These clubs are groups of high-school children who often meet at school to talk and work on environment-related topics.
On 21st of Nov FSL India Kundapur organized for a Culture Event for 2 LTV volunteers. Every month we organize cultural Meet for our regular volunteers and we take them to any cultural and historical places which located in and around Kundapur. This month the cultural Event was mainly focused on a family function.
In the month of November 2016, FSL LTV Bangalore region organized for Quarterly Evaluation (QTE) for our Long term volunteers at Pondicherry and Mysore.
Last Saturday, November 19th 2016, we conveyed a very nice session on “Environment and culture” in Milagres College, Udupi, for students of Master in Social Work.
In the month of August we received 2 volunteers from FSL India named Louis Bohny and Malte Ruger to Sristi Village. Sristi Village is an inclusive, self-sustaining and eco-friendly community for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This is Praveenkumar from Bangalore, INDIA – I am one of the families esteemed FSL India has partnered with to host International volunteers. Veena is my wife and we have a son named Om. My parents stay in my native town, Gadag which is around 420 KMs north of Bangalore towards Mumbai. It is located between Goa and Hampi – two of the most popular touristic destinations.
We are happy to inform you all that this month of November we are still celebrating these monthly sessions for local adolescents, boys and girls, in order to help them to understand the changes and challenges they might experience in this stage of life.
