We were heartily welcomed by the school principal Mr. John Mathew and chief coordinator Wilhelmina Mathew as well as the student’s board.  After the introduction, STC volunteers Anna, Ines and Nico started the session on Marine life by giving introduction about the topic.

For the session’s first part, the students were divided into four groups and given with various materials as well as some questions/ issues. The student’s task was to use the materials to answer the questions. They were given charts to present their results in front of the class.

Next on, the students were shown a video of a young British boy who worked on a method to clean the oceans of plastic waste. This should motivate the students to become creative and think about solutions to the problems that are deemed unsolvable. The session was successful and the STC team was satisfied with the results.

It is good experience for the volunteers to interact with students and made them aware about the problem. Students participated very actively and agreed to give their support to protecting the environment.
