Children’s day in India is celebrated on November 14^th every year as a tribute of children day on the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India.

On 14^th of November FSL-India Kundapur tent school team organized a children’s day at Yedthadi tent school and on 17^th at Baikadi tent school for migrant family children with collaboration of Haradi gram panchayath, Tenkanidiyoor, Milagris college Kallyanpura and  Barkur social work department. To make children day as a memorable and special day, We conducted competitions, taught dance, songs and decorated school.

Yedthadi Tent school:

In Yedthadi this the 2^nd year we celebrated children day Mr. Jeevan inaugurated the program by  hand printing on cloth . Mr. Ravikiran, Ms. Ariana, Ms. Shalini been guest for the program. Had an prize distribution program for winner and provided lunch for all the participants.

Baikadi tent school:

For the first time we organized the children day celebration program at Baikadi with the support of panchayath & tent families. The program started with prayer song by our children’s. The program inaugurated through lighting the lamp by Mrs. Jayalaxmi Shetty (President of Haradi Panchayath), Mr. Srikumar Suvara (vice-president of Haradi Panchayath) Mr. Jeevan and Prof. Manjunath – Laxmi soma bangere college Kort-Padukare, Mr. Mohamed Nasir – Milagris college Kallaynapur,  Ms. Marta, Mrs. Geetha Acharya , Ms. Marjium and Ms. Manjula been guest for the program.

Mr. Srikumar Suvara talk about children day program and happy to be part of the celebration and appreciated FSL-India work on educating tent school children and assured that to help in future also. Mr. Jeevan addressed about FSL-India, tent school project and importance of children day and about importance of children education.

During the program distributed prizes to the winners and children were happy to receive prizes, later children performed dance, song, skit on stop child marriages theme with Barkur MSW students  and finally celebrated children day with cutting cake by children.

During the program FSL-India staff & volunteer, Haradi panchayth president & vice president, Tenkanidiyoor, Barkur and Milagris college Kallyanpura  social work department and most importantly the Baikadi tent community been part of the celebration. The program was appreciated by parents and locals. It was great to see the children and the parents participation in this program & to see the cute smiles on children face. FSL-India thanked all participants and sponsors for helping to make this program to successful.
