LTV Winter camp in Good Samaritan Children’s Home-Kundapur

 The LTV team of FSL-India conducted a winter camp in Good Samaritan Children’s Home in Byndoor, Kundapur  from  12th to 27th October 2015. Volunteers from regular teaching and orphan teaching participated in this camp. The activities were mainly related to renovation works and, in total, 10 volunteers took part in it.

On the second last weekend, from 23th to 24th October, some volunteers and I spent a couple of days in Mysore to see the celebration of the Hindu Dasara Festival, which takes place every year in September or October. Today 10th of November we celebrated the Diwali festival in the training centre. Diwali is also called the ‘Festival of Light’ and it is celebrated on New Moon night of the month of Kartika according to our Hindu calendar (in the Gregorian calendar, from  mid October to mid November)

My first Indian wedding experience!!

 It was in a hall called “Laxmi Janardhana Mini Hall” although it wasn’t “Mini” at all !! On a very sunny, very hot Sunday in Udupi. It was a wedding of my coordinator’s sister and all the volunteers got very excited when he invited us. We were looking forward to the new cultural experience as Indian weddings are much different compared to the weddings functions in Germany! “Go Green, Plant Green”: Winter camp at Kundapura….

Winter camp was held at Kundapura training center from 12th to 27th October 2015. Volunteers from regular teaching and orphan teaching participated in this camp and HBP organized it.  The activities were mainly related to sustainable agriculture and, in total, 17 volunteers took part in it. Staff from HBP, work camp and LTV supported the camp.
