Peace Day Observation at Mavinkatte school

Three months ago we started this activity with great excitement as we were starting a nursery in our training centre in Kundapur. This means we are raising the trees and plants we need to plant here since they are just a seed.
This work camp took place in Kundapur from 10th to 22nd of August 2015 and we developed activities related to sustainable agriculture, kids and culture.
For the first time in FSL-India tent school project, the tent school team celebrated Independence day on 15th of August at Yedthadi tent school, we started with Prayer song, Flag hosting, all together sung a National-anthem. One of the child parents were invited as a guest in this program and they appreciated FSL-India work, FSL-India staff gave information about freedom fighters and how children can contribute towards clean India and the program ended with sweets distribution, during the celebration tent…
On Monday, 20th July, the Sea Turtle Conservation project of FSL India (STC) organized a Workshop in the Shettrakatte training center. Since the rough sea during the monsoon season washed ashore already several sea turtles, all with more or less severe injuries, this time the meeting was focused on injured turtles and how to treat them.
On 3rd of July-15, HBP team organized play for peace activities to tent school team. The training was organized at the training center of FSL-India, Kundapur. We started activities by introducing core values of the activities.
On 3rd July HBP team from FSL Kundapura organized a demonstration on preparing Jeevamrutha (Organic manure for Plants) to HBP, LTV and training center staff. Tent school teachers, Tent school volunteers and other HBP volunteers also participated. Mr. Padmanabha Adiga, organic farmer from Bhatrdi, was the resource person to prepare jeevamrutha and explained about materials needed, steps to be followed and procedure to prepare Jeevamrutha.
This workcamp took place in Kundapur from 1st to 13th of June 2015 and we developed the activities to focusing on SAP-K related are as follows: – Hands-on experience on sustainable agriculture techniques, such as maintenance of trenches for water harvesting, compost tank activities, weeding of vegetable garden.
On 2nd June-15, the HBP – tent school team of FSL-India along with international volunteers organized an excursion trip for Yedthadi tent school children to Murdeswara temple and visited Island at Uppinkote near Brahmavar. A total of 16 children, 3 volunteers and 1 teacher participated in the excursion. It was a part of education trip.
