Eco-club initiation

The  30 students and one special task. This motto headed the Eco-club session on  22 and 23 December 2014 at Anjuman school Kundapur. This time the students were requested to become engineers creating their dream house,  beach or town in a sustainable way.

Mr. Klaus visited Kundapur FSL-India Training center on 17 th and 18 th December 2014. On 17 th he visited to Gangolli  hatchery site and also observed mural painting done by HBP and work camp volunteers. Little artists around Kundapur

In the last two weeks the Sea Turtle Conservation Team conducted drawing competitions in three different schools (Kanchogodu, Maravanthe, Kodikanyana) with turtle related topics. Students from 5th to 7th Standard took part and created very nice drawings. Every standard got its own topic with rising levels of difficulty to higher standards. Sustainable agriculture project is implementing in FSL Training Center Kundapur.  Watershed components like Gully Plugs, Trenches and Organic Farming is already implemented in Training Center. This will help volunteers and also to Community people to learn about organic farming.

Observation of International Volunteer Day at Chaitanya Special School

FSL-India Kundapur team observed International volunteers Day in Chaitanya Special School on 5th December 2014. The team volunteered to help and cleaned the play ground and installed playing material (marry ground) which was donated by volunteers. Mr. Daya, Mrs. Vaz, Mr. Jeevan, Ms. Manjula, Mr. Simon, Ms. Katharina, Ms. Julie, Mr. Pièrre, Ms. Laura and Mr. Tilman participated in the program.

Sea-turtle conservation Awareness at Uppunda

HBP team organized Sea-turtle Conservation (STC) Work camp from 10th to 21st November-2014. This is the 2nd work-camp of the Sea Turtle Conservation Project, which took place in Uppunda-Madikal village. Despite of only one volunteer from France arriving for the work-camp, the two weeks of raising awareness about sea turtles was a great success.

During Dasara holidays HBP – Tent school team of FSL-India, had successfully conducted a  Winter camp at the Heskatturu and Yedthadi tent school and 18 children were benefited.  Camp held from 13th to 28th October-14.   During the camp, tent school team organized various activities like Mask making,  Paper craft, Visited Mandarthi temple, Painting,  balloon game, Fruit guessing, Memory games and group bounding games. FSL-India training campus exploring a new innovative environment friendly methods which is useful to save the environment. In campus HBP team working on implementing watershed components like constructing contour bunds, gully plugs, trenches, Live hedge fencing etc. Main purpose of this components are to percolate rain water in underground and to increase ground water level. On 12th November Wednesday, the construction  volunteers Ms. Kathrina, Ms. Julie, Mr. Simon, Mr. Peter and 1 PR Media volunteer and 1 Environment volunteer Ms. Laura and HBP staffs Mr. Jeevan & Ms. Manjula had an exposure visit to Neermarga village which is located near Mangalore .
