On 24^th December, the HBP volunteers and staff visited the agricultural fair (Krishi mela) near Koteshwar organized by SKDRDP.

 

In the trade fair  the most different things related to agriculture were exhibited. One stand showed silkworms doing their work and explained the production of silk, another one showed old tools that were formerly used on farms. At one stand sickles were produced in front of the visitor’s eyes. Sellers of heavy farming equipment were present, too, as well as bookstores and snack stalls.

 

 

We observed about local farming system and local seeds and plants. One of the most impressive things was the decoration: The stage as well as some other buildings were richly adorned with fruits and vegetables. Nearly more than 2000 people participated in this program.
