Anemic Testing Camp

FSL India collaborated with Apollo tyres manufacturing company for the implementation of second phase of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project activity with the thematic area of “Anemic control and Hygiene Promotion” in Sriperumbudur Block villages namely Eraiyur, Vallam, Sennakuppam, Oragadam & Mathur.

Anemia is the most prevalent nutritional deficiency disorder in the world. In India, anemia affects an estimated 50% of the population; mainly it affects women, children and adolescent girls. Focusing the issue of anemia, the II phase project of Apollo tyres has been designed to decrease the rate of Anemia.

CSR activity-ChennaiIn this juncture, on 25th, 26th & 27 May, 2016 anemic testing camp was organized to find the anemic women in all above mentioned villages. In this test camp 121 women from Mathur, Sennakuppam 71, Oragadam 64, Vallam 149, Eraiyur 210 totally 621 women aged between 18-60 tested. Those tested samples are in the process of Diagnosis. The sorting Anemic caused individuals will be intervened by Supplementary food demonstration, Awareness Program on Anemia control, Promotion of Kitchen Garden, Awareness session on Importance of Nutritional Values to decrease the rate of anemia among targeted women from the selected villages.
