I am Manjunath working in FSL-India since last 4 years as Area Coordinator. I got a chance to participate in International workcamp at “Le Saix” (France), which organised by SJ France (Solidarites jeunesses) 3 weeks from 26^th September, to 16^th October 2016.

The day begins with new people, culture, tradition, landscape and surprised weather. But it never makes to look back towards to India, even I knew that am in another country I felt very happy those things which makes me more comfortable such as beautiful landscape, smiley faces, lot of discussions and lots of fun.

This camp was best platform for me to have lots of learning and experience with multiple ways as Participant and Coordinator. We are 10 people from India, Mexico, Costa Rica, Germany, Turkey, France and Denmark. We involved in protection of river against the floods of the rivers of Buech valley with coordination of Mr. John who came from Australia for Technical support, our work usually start up with curiosity and usually it ends with excitement.  Every day was special for us with surprised weather and balanced work.

I am proud of myself to be part of this camp, because our intention to conserve the rivers and encourage the local population (Fisher man and farmers), we spent lots of things to done such a wonderful work to fulfil our goal such as sweat, energy, time, ideas, money, travel, mindset, guidance, patience, team work etc. overall we had outstanding experience in this project.

It was wonderful opportunity to share about our culture to know about other culture, cooking Indian food sharing with others, be a part of music festival, lot of interactions, know about local families, traditions, lifestyles, weekend visit, camping, kayak and international meal day these things made me more curious and it make me to discover new things.
