Permaculture Training at FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living, Kundapur

Permaculture Training at FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living, Kundapur

From the 17th-26th November 2018, FSL-India organised a training event for some members of CCIVS from all around the globe. The training was conducted by 2 permaculture experts.

The participants were trained in the theoretical aspects of permaculture, as well as in the practical implementation of their own design. All the participants came from different countries and different climates, which is the reason why they were not given a perfect plan on how to build permaculture.

Instead, they got tools and strategies in order to develop their own permaculture design, which suits their needs on their farm. Furthermore, they learned how to conserve biodiversity, seeds, the importance of water and how to conserve it, the ethics of permaculture, and a lot more.

The sessions held by the two trainers – Catharina (Kate) Curtis and Govinda Sharma, as well as from some guest lecturers from Auroville and Goa.

FSL-India was both host and participant at the same time and we used that opportunity to teach the participants about Indian culture and cuisine.

Concluding, we can say that the whole training was worth all the effort and organisation that was put into it. The participants had a lot of fun, combined with a lot of learning and at the same time FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living gained an additional garden, which marked the beginning of the permaculture implementation at the Centre.
