FSL INDIA reached its milestone in CSR tie up with corporate by signing MOU with Apollo Tyres. The collaboration harness the corporate social responsibility towards the villages such as Oragadam, Sennakuppam and Mathur near Apollo tyres in Sriperumbudur, Kancheepuram district. The tie up works towards improving the Health condition of the people; increasing the awareness level of personal and menstrual hygiene among people particularly women. Appropriate Technology is the Technology developed with the available resource and to be used day to day life such as preparing roof or door mat with used tetra packs, hand sanitizer with lemon and eucalyptus leaves etc. These technologies were developed and promoted by the Korean volunteers in few villages located in and around of Hysco company located in Thiruvallur District through the CSR initiative of HYSCO company and FSL India. FSL-India in collaboration with Play for Peace organised three-day training for the staff. The event was organized at the training center of FSL-India, Kundapur from May 19 to 21, 2015. A total number of 40 staff members of FSL-India from various regions participated in the training.
The Kundapur Region monthly Get Together for the month of June was held on Thursday and Friday, 11th and 12th at FSL Training Center. Six volunteers and three staff participated in this event. Thursday morning all the participant went to Kollur in FSL’s jeep.
On 2nd June-15, the HBP – tent school team of FSL-India along with international volunteers organized an excursion trip for Yedthadi tent school children to Murdeswara temple and visited Island at Uppinkote near Brahmavar. A total of 16 children, 3 volunteers and 1 teacher participated in the excursion. It was a part of education trip.
June 5th was World Environment day and it was celebrated all over the world, like it has been done for more than forty years now, with many different activities, talks and projects by many experts and people concerned about the environment alike. Staff from FSL went this year to Green Valley School in Shiroor to give a talk to some of the students on environment and what they can do to improve the earth’s condition and help save our planet.
On 5th June, I visited to one of the farmer agricultura land to get exposure on organic farming along with HBP volunteers, HBP staff and work camp staff, from FSL.
In the month of June, FSL India hosted 05 Long Term Volunteers from 2 different countries (France, Ireland). Every evening FSL had organised different events for the exchange of Intercultural learning.
Work camp department organized 2 days special work camp for work camp team leaders on 22nd and 23rd of May 2015 with collaboration of HBP team.
