My last week in my school project -Higher Primary School Moodugiliyar
The last week in my project was very special. The exams were over and everybody was looking forward for the summer holidays.
The whole week there were no classes anymore. Instead, every student could do more or less what they want to do. Playing games, drawing, spending a lot of time outside. I especially liked that all the standards mixed together so all age groups stayed together. I always brought my small speaker with me so we listened to a lot of music. The students loved dancing. Especially the younger ones liked playing musical statues.
A few girls from the higher standards showed me two new games which are played with stoned and dries soya seeds. It was really nice to learn these games because in that way the students could teach me something new and not only the other way around.
Monday two sendoff functions took place. I the morning the school prepared a function for Sophie and me. Everybody came together. Even my host mother came, which made me very happy. Some students sang a song and a lot of
speeches were held. As a part of the ceremony Sophie and I got a cloth, fruits and a trophy. In the end we sang “If you’re happy and you know it” with all the students which we normally sing in the beginning of almost every lesson.
In the afternoon the send off function of 7th standard took place. For that occasion I was able to wear my saree. Again a lot of speeches were held. The students from 7th standard had prepared Tiffin for themselves and all Sirs and teachers. So we sat down all together for a last time which was very nice.
As I had not expected these functions on that day I was positively surprised of the events and very happy in the afternoon.
