Fun & Learning in FSL-India’s Summer Camp!

We are happy to inform you that FSL-India successfully completed a 3-day Junior Summer Camp, in which the kids had loads of fun! The summer camp took place at the FSL- India Centre for Experiential Living (CEL), Shetrakatte for three days, i.e. from 24th-26th April 2017 and 21 children from II to VI standards from the surrounding villages participated in it.

FSL-India conducted several activities, such as group bonding games, handicraft making with the use of waste materials, video watching and debate on educational values, agricultural work through nursery management & sowing papaya seeds, environmental education session, funny games like lemon & spoon or book balance, session on sea turtle & ocean conservation with drawing competition on this topic and making a collage out of natural elements.

The aim of this camp was to make the children learn while having fun and mingling together and there were clear indicators that it was achieved. It was great to see the children playing with each other, no matter what caste, religion, village or type of school.

At the end of the camp, the kids could take with them a decorative balloon made out of waste, their sea turtle conservation drawing, a papaya plant to look after, some school materials gifted to all of them and the prizes some of them won in the various championships conducted by FSL-India.

Everyone enjoyed the camp and all the kids wanted to have more! The FSL-India team looks forward to the Senior Summer Camp next month!

FSL-India is grateful for the assistance of the MSW students who graciously gave of their time. Also to ‘Recogida de fondos por India’, the sponsors of the camp. Thank you for your trust and support.
