Field Learning Sessions

Field Learning Sessions

Monthly Field Learning Sessions (FLS) will be carried out at various locations such as NGOs, other organisations in the social sector or local projects. The objectives of the FLS are to introduce participants to different organisations and people working in the development field, and familiarise them to such social causes. By witnessing projects and meeting people working in the development field, participants will enhance their understanding of different social causes and see how organisations are working towards them. In addition, these field learning sessions will encourage participants to get involved in working towards issues and causes that are socially relevant.

The themes of the FLS will include environmental conservation, education, disenfranchised/underprivileged populations, women’s rights and children’s rights. The FLS will be free of cost; however, the cost of transportation will have to be covered by individual participants.

Every month, a field visit to a different organisation or project etc. will be organised and will be following the same general schedule:

–          Presentation of long-term and international volunteering

–          Visiting the organisation’s HQ for a presentation of the organisation, meeting the staff and board members

–          Visiting the project to meet the beneficiaries and see the workings of the project with a Q&A session

–          Debrief

Our first FLS will take place on the 14th of June on the theme of environmental conservation. For more information, please email fslydp@gmail.com or follow this link:
