Exploring Kundapura- Spanish teen camp!!

Teen members’ age group of 12 to 14 from Spain had exposure on sustainable agriculture, Waste management system, Interaction with school children and intercultural learning at Bangalore and Kundapur from 4th to 15th July.

First week all teens visited Indian major religious places like temple, church and mosque to understand the cultural practices in India. The group also had an opportunity to explore the differences between government school and private school in education system.  The teens also learnt Indian ( Bollywood ) dance.

The 2nd week started at Kundapur, the teen members worked in sustainable agriculture project at training center. They actively involved in digging pits for plants, Planted 6 saplings, protected plants by constructing fence, engaged in nursery management activity, visited farmer’s paddy farm and cultivated paddy along with farmer, visited rubber and cashew nut factory to know about process, visited agriculture research center to learn about sustainable agriculture, visited Agumbe rain forest to know forest bio diversity..

3rd week they stayed at Indian families to know about Indian living style and customs and religious aspects. The team worked on waste management systems to the school children and community people. Organized rally from school to hattiangady panchayth to handover memorandum  to implement solid waste management system at Local panchayth.

Totally these 3 weeks teen members had wonderful experience during the camp. They interacted with children, host family members, farmers, local youth and FSL staff to get more information about India and Indian culture. Each teen camp member thanked FSL for giving this wonderful opportunity to them.
