When I set out on this adventure with IJGD and FSL-India, I never imagined the incredible experiences awaiting me in the heart of Berlin. Each day became a new chapter in my story, filled with learning and unexpected discoveries that shaped who I am today. At the start, I was eager but unsure, ready to jump into something entirely new. Challenges popped up along the way, but I quickly learned they were opportunities in disguise. Berlin isn’t just a place on a map; it’s a vibrant community where I learned more than I ever thought was possible. Volunteering taught me something invaluable: resilience. Every tough moment became a chance to push myself and find the solutions. These experiences didn’t just help with the project; they gave me skills that reach far beyond any task at hand.

But the real treasure was in the people I met. Talking to fellow volunteers and locals opened up my eyes to new cultures and ideas. Each conversation was like unwrapping a gift, revealing unique traditions and
giving me a broader view of the world. The teamwork was something else. Working with people who
shared my passion was inspiring. We each brought something different to the table, and together, we
achieved more than we ever could alone.
Volunteering with kids was an important highlight. They became my teachers, showing me that learning isn’t just in a classroom. They welcomed me as part of their world, not just as a volunteer but as a friend. Their openness taught me so much more than just their language; it showed me the beauty of teamwork and friendship.

Berlin in winter is like stepping into a fairytale. The chilly air and festive spirit make it magical. And the Christmas markets? They’re a whole other world. The sights, smells, and sounds create an atmosphere that wraps you in warmth and joy. In the end, despite the challenges, my time in Kita was worth every moment. I’ve gained knowledge, made connections, and grown in ways I never imagined. I’m grateful for this journey and excited to see where volunteering takes me next.
