Development of the Mindset towards Service – Udayavani, Manipal: 27th November 2019

“It is an indispensable need for us to develop a mindset of service and a sense of belonging to our culture.”

The programme of the International Volunteer Culture Exchange and Community Service was hosted by FSL India’s Zonal Advisory Committee and Heskathuru School. The event was held on 26th November, at Heskathuru School. Member of the Zillah Panchayat, Mrs SriLatha Suresh Shetty was the speaker.

An elaborate welcoming ceremony called ‘Poorna Kumbha Swagatha’ was given to more than 40 foreign students from Germany and Sweden who first came to India to study the Indian culture and heritage of our country.

The Taluk Panchayat member Shaila Sri Shetty shared her opinion; that the students are seriously required to be educated about religion and culture along with their studies. 

Mr Gange Kulal, the President of Korgi Grama Panchayat, was the chief guest at the programme.

Members of Grama Panchayat, Lalitha Bhat, Sanjeev Kulal, Panchayat Devt Officer Sudhakar Shetty Guddamadi, Vittal Kulal, the President of School Development and Monitoring Commitee, Raju Poojary, the President of River Side Rotary Club, Kundapura, Gayathri Kedlaya, the President of Heshkathuru Bala Vikasa Kendra, Shekar Kumar, the Headmaster of Government Higher Primary School Heshkathuru, Sadu Serigar, the Headmaster of Government Higher Primary School Siriyara, Venkatesh M, FSL India’s Senior Manager, the volunteer teachers from Germany, Mathias and Lina were also present at the programme.

At the event, an Indian cultural programme was performed by school students. The German and Swedish students performed their country’s cultural programmes.

There was a welcome speech by Dinesh, Chief Coordinator FSL India and the primary speech by Venkatesh M, Senior Manager of FSL India. The narration and vote of thanks was done by the school teacher Ashok Tekkatte.

The International Volunteer Culture Exchange and Community Service Programme was inaugurated by SriLatha Suresh Shetty.
