On 14th January -15, FSL-India’s tent school team organized an education trip for  Yedthadi and Brahmavar tent school children to Pilikula Nisargadhama. Pilikula  Nisargadhama (Zoo) which is located near Mangalore, in this trip 32 children participated, volunteers, teachers and coordinator. The “Keep Lalbagh Clean” Initiative is a public project handled by the Youth Development Programme of FSL, that aims at Promoting Environmental sustainability and raising public awareness for the botanical gardens of Lalbagh. The project is aimed at all those who visit it during key events like the flower show during Independence Day or Republic Day.

Normally tent children will not get a chance to celebrate Christmas and new year, for that FSL-India’s tent school team planned to celebrate, on 25th of December – 2014. We Celebrated Christmas in tent school by making Christmas trees and distributed sweets to the children. FSL India Chennai Facility conducted Orientation for Indian Volunteers on 7th January 2015 in Hyundai Motors India, Irungattukottai, Tamil Nadu. There were 30 Students (15 male and 15 Females) were participated in the orientation from four different colleges such as DG Vaishnav arts college, University of Madras, Madras School of Social Work and Madras Christian College.

On the 11th and 12th December , FSL- India organised a Get together for the long term volunteers living around Kundapur. There are 10 volunteers participated, accompanied by 5 FSL staff members. This month’s GTG was held at Simha Farms. Simha Farms is located in the Western Ghats mountain range and is surrounded by the Ghats’ evergreen forests. Its remote location makes for a perfect place to relax from everyday life and enjoy the nature.  

The Bangalore region organised LTV get-together at AIKYA in Bangalore on 13th and 14th. November 2014. Altogether 13 volunteers from Bangalore Region participated in the program.  The LTV team of FSL-India facilitated the get-together. The underlying objective of the get-together is to asses the progress on the inter-cultural learning and project activities assigned to each volunteer. On 5th December, We FSL-India and all Long term volunteers from Bangalore have celebrated the International volunteers day at The association for the Mentally challenged Children in Bangalore. Our team has done small renovation activities like wall painting, cleaning the ground and making Kitchen garden..
