♥♥♥ Blog article on my Host family ♥♥♥ Hannah

I live in a very lovely host family consisting of mother, father and two brothers in the age of 19 and 21. Apart from me there is one more German LTV called Sara. We share our room and bathroom, fortunately we get along very very well. In many points we are different but we both like baking and especially eating the sweets afterwards very much. Sara and I come home late from our projects. After finishing works as washing clothes we spend time with our family. Sometimes we bake cakes or cookies together; our family also loves to eat sweets. On other days we cook together or just talk about the different cultures and learn about festivals, traditions, religion. From 8:30 until 9:00 o’clock there is our host mums favorite shop with meenatchi. This week there is the final, so we are all anxious about the end. In these days we don’t have dinner, as before, at 8:30, now we eat after the soap. Although our brothers pretend to be not interested in it, they are watching it with us sometimes.

Our family is Christian. In December we could experience an Indian Christmas. It was not like the Christmas I knew, but it was also a nice way to celebrate Christmas and it felt familiar. This was the most important for me. In the deepam festival our host mum took us to her Hindu friend’s house, so that we could experience also this festival from another religion.  One time we went all together to a Christian wedding. It was a great experience, they had a nice location and the food was nearly as good as our host mums food. Sara and I love our family, they make us feel home in India.
