In the month of March 2019, FSL-India staff got a surprise: a sea turtle nest at Trasi, along the Kundapura shoreline. Everybody felt so happy and since the beginning, the local fishermen, as well as the community, along with the Forest Department, worked together for taking care of the nest. 100 Turtle Eggs found at Maravanthe – Times of India, Mangalore dated 21.03.2019

Alerted by the local fishermen, FSL-India’s Sea Turtle Conservation team rescued 100 sea turtle eggs found at Maravanthe beach. Along with the Forest Department, a hatchery has been built and we are eagerly waiting for the turtles to hatch. Rakesh Soans, FSL-India’s President spoke to Times of India, Mangalore about our FSL-India’s efforts to protect this beautiful marine creature.
