During January -16 FSL-India, HBP team along with Work camp team conducted drawing competition and prize distribution program at Government higher primary school Mavinkatte, 54 children from 6th & 7th standard participated. Theme of the competition about Environmental issues & agriculture, where the participants are encouraged to visualize their environment as well as current negative influences upon it.
This time LTV team Kundapura planned to conduct Play for Peace session at Gulwadi School on 4th February. The session was planned for 1.30 hours. Children really enjoyed participating in the activity. We used energizers and communication methods for this activity. Gulawdi Primary school, located in Kundapura Udupi District in the Indian state of Karnataka. The school is Kannada Medium School for children from economically backward community.
FSL India has hosted 4 long Term Volunteers from Germany, Sweden and America. Volunteer has gone through the different sessions, to prepare themselves for their successful journey in India. Regarding orientation, we usually carry out different activities during orientation week such as Indian welcome, expectation and fear conflict in communication, Safety, Understand cultural indicator, Introduction about FSL India, Indian lifestyle, Social concerns of India, project information, Indian pedagogy, volunteer’s role and responsibility and Hindu philosophy.
On 2nd of February – 16, FSL-India’s tent school team organized an education trip for Yedthadi and Bykadi tent school children to Pilikula Nisargadhama. It was the first excursion trip to Yedthadi & Bykadi children. Usually tent school children will not get a chance to go for exposure trip, because of that we organizes trips which makes children happy.

Probationary District collector Ms. Shikha Dahiya visited training center on 3rd February with Gulwadi panchayath village accountant and panchayath members. She wanted to know about FSL intervention, projects and volunteer experience . FSL staff Mr. Jeevan briefed her about FSL, volunteer services, HBP projects, work camp, YDP, TC,CSR, host family concept etc.

In the month of January 2016, FSL organized three different of Cultural visit in three places, cultural meet was in Chennai, Bangalore and Mysore. Beginning of the year we conduct a camp at south India coffee land at Coorg, we were 4 people from South Korea and including our team leader. We had wonderful experience at coffee land, such as harvesting coffee, visiting various coffee land and study about coffee crop and how the process was happening, it was such a good experience to be a part of this work camp.
On 30th January -2016 FSL-India’s Kundapur team organized free Ayurvedic health Check-up & free medicines distribution camp for community at our Shetrakatte training centre with collaboration of Rotary club Kundapur South, Rotary community unit – Tallur, Mr. Janab M. Chareyabba Saheb – Mavinkatte, Dharmasthala rural development SHG federation – Mavinkatte and Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara ayurveda hospital Kutpadi. In this camp 237 community people from Mavinkatte, Karki, Gulvadi, Tallur, Shetrakatte, Kenchanur, Hattiangadi, Neralkatte enrolled and availed free medicines.
