As a volunteer I assist with what is needed, everything from administrative work, to teaching English or to just spend time with the children. FSL India has hosted 5 long Term Volunteers for this month’s cultural event. In the beginning facilitator let introduction of participants and explained about next activities. Volunteers look so excited to visit Hindu temple and to see cave.

Play for Peace!! Gulwadi school

Play for Peace!! Gulwadi school

This time LTV team Kundapura planned to conduct Play for Peace session at  Gulwadi School on 4th February.  The session was planned for 1.30 hours. Children really enjoyed participating in the activity. We used energizers and communication methods for this activity. Gulawdi Primary school, located in Kundapura Udupi District in the Indian state of Karnataka. The school is Kannada Medium School for children from economically backward community.

FSL India has hosted 4 long Term Volunteers from Germany, Sweden and America. Volunteer has gone through the different sessions, to prepare themselves for their successful journey in India. Regarding orientation,  we usually carry out different activities during orientation week such as Indian welcome, expectation and fear conflict in communication, Safety, Understand cultural indicator, Introduction about FSL India, Indian lifestyle, Social concerns of India, project information, Indian pedagogy, volunteer’s role and responsibility and Hindu philosophy.
