Vijaya dhasmi (Dusshera) ” The victory of good over the evil”

Dusshera is also known as Vijaya dhasmi. Dusshera word derived from two word – “Dus” mean ten and “hera” mean defeat symbolizing the killing ten- headed king Ravana by Lord Rama.

Significance of Vijaya dhasmi:

The victory of good over the evil. An epic war was fought to rescue Sita from the clutches of Ravana between him and Rama. The war lasted ten days, which finished on Dhasmi. The glorious victory of good and Rama, Lakshmanan , Sita and Hanuman’s homecoming was celebrated with great happiness, which is continue to celebrate by Hindus in the form of Dusshera.
