FSL have been placing volunteer in the host family for the past 06 months. The volunteer is working in a Trible teaching project called Nisarga Foundation. The project is located in HD Kote. The family cooperation with FSL and with volunteer is really wonderful. Through getting volunteers from FSL India family also leant a lot from the volunteers. Volunteer Mr. John-Henry is 7th volunteer. John Henry host family is located in Hunsur. At present there is nearly 8 volunteers are working/staying in Hunsur. Hunsur is a Taluk center John is very happy to be a part of Hunsur.

You definitely belong to the lucky ones if you are placed in a host family in Hunsur! First of all it looks nice and has a comfortable atmosphere, once the Indian pace of living grows on you. The town has just the right size between small-town and city. From one rather big supermarket and several internet cafes to our meeting point at the local juice shop, Hunsur has everything you need.

Probably you will soon have your favorite banana-stand, well-known bus conductor and school children crossing your way, you see everyday and get to know better; the town is full of nice people. If you don’t have any bigger plans for the weekend you can always visit the big city Mysore, which is just a one-hour bus drive away (from there you can really go anywhere with the bus).  Both cities are very clean by Indian standards and there is a lot to discover, as is for the whole area (For example: The river island of Sri Rangapatnam, the Golden Temple in Krushalnagar, or the close by Nargarahole National Park).
