Teachers and Children Honour FSL-India Volunteer

 

India honours the teachers on 5th September every year. The Teachers’ Day celebration in Kundapur this year wore a special event. Miss Larissa Haesler, an FSL-India volunteer from Germany was honoured on Teachers’ Day by Woman and Children Development Society and Keeleshwari Youth Club for her volunteering service and teaching in Keeleshwari Kindergarten School.

 

Mr. Mohandas Shenoy, the President of Kundapur Municipal Town inaugurated the program specially organised to honour Larissa Haesler. Mrs. Kalavathi the Secretary of Kundapur Municipal Town graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the event. Mrs. Gunarathna, the President of Woman and Children Development Society, Mrs. Usha, the President of Kindergarten Workers Association and Mr. Raghu Vittalwadi, the President of Keeleshwari Youth Club also participated in this special function organised to honour the volunteer.

 

During the function, members of the Youth Club and the teachers expressed their gratitude to Larissa. As a token of appreciation and acknowledgment of her volunteering service in Keelehwari Kindergarten School, Larissa was awarded with a citation and garland. In return Larissa also shared with them about her experience in teaching in the Kindergarten and about the Indian system of teaching and learning experience. She also shared about her appreciation for Indian culture and the inter-culral learning she had during her stay in India. It can be noted that Larissa Haesler is the third volunteer and worked as the first iVIP volunteer at Keeleshwari Kindergarten School.
