Sea-turtles are sporadic creatures and are considered to be an endangered species. In the west coast of Karnataka, on the shores of Kundapura and Byndoor, seven wounded sea-turtles were found. Injuries are caused by the rough waves of the monsoon season and getting trapped in fishing nets.

      Upon finding the wounded sea-turtles, local fisherman immediately called up FSL-India’s Home Based Project (HBP) team members. The rescue operation took place from the 19^th of June to the 23^rd of June, whereby the sea-turtles were treated at the local veterinary hospital and kept in the departmental rescue center. Once they recovered, the sea-turtles were released back into the ocean during low-tide period.
