SAP-K experience- TC volunteers!

Our second month was busy. We planted training center’s first paddy field, constructed a new kitchen garden and started our project to build a medicinal garden.

However, this article will be about our experiences visiting the tent school project and KVK (Krushi Vidyana Kendra). In the morning of Thursday, 29th of October, we had an 1 1/2 hour bus drive to Yedsap-k-experience-tc-volunteers-3thadi, the village were the tent school is placed. There we met Miriam and Ariane, the two volunteers working in this project. These days only six childeren, aged from 3-10 (they often don’t know the exact age) are joining the small school, this is why the atmosphere was relaxed and teaching was quite possible. We can not really imagine how they handle 40 children, as usually they have to do!

Then we visited the community, which is on the area next to the school tent. This visit was quite shocking for us. The kids often live there alone until the parents come back from the work on the road construction arVolunteer-Indiaeas. It’s dirty and incredibly hot. TV is there while fluent water is not.

After lunch in a nice restaurant nearby, we visited the KVK. This is like an institute for agriculture, a bit like the training Center, but in huge and with scientific and research goals.

We wanted purchase to Azolla and mushroom seeds, sadly the items were not available in this day. However, we got a nice insight in this great institute and we are looking forward to visit again. Azolla and mushrooms, which we need for our work here.
