The Kundapur Region’s monthly Get Together for the month of February was held on Thursday and Friday, 12^th and 13^th at Eden Homestay. There were 3 staff and 17 volunteers participated.

 

About Eden Homestay:

Eden Homestay is located 9km away from Kumta railway station. It is part of an organic plantation. Thus, it is surrounded by a palm tree forest that makes very special atmosphere. The farm produces areca, coffee, pepper, vanilla and cardamom. The owner’s hospitality was superb, as the quality and quantity of food. Provided that there are no clouds, the starry night sky is an amazing sight.

Due to a change in the railway timetables, our departure was later than planned. When we arrived at Eden Homestay, everyone was craving for lunch – which was not ready yet, so we moved into our rooms first and had to wait. We were rewarded with an excellent meal. Due to our delay, there was not much time. We only had a very small digestive break before the session started. In this session the volunteers were grouped according to their project (regular teaching, orphanage, tent school and other HBPs). The task was to note down activities, challenges, progress and the expected outcome for each project. The results were then presented to the rest of the group. After dinner, everyone gathered around the campfire and had 1-1 talks with their coordinators.
