FSL India’s German volunteers go back to their hometown – Vijaya Karnataka, 21st March 2020

Volunteers from a different country came to FSL india’s Centre for Experiential Living, Shettrakatte for understanding the culture, and for service. However, because of the COVID 19 crisis, they had to travel back to Germany.

At present, 24 volunteers were servicing different projects in Mangalore and Udupi district. FSL India and their German partner discussed the situation and decided to evacuate all the volunteers.

Out of the 24 volunteers, some traveled through Mumbai airport and some of them traveled through Bangalore airport.

All 24 volunteers were involved in their service very honestly. They love their work, but because of this crisis, they had to go back very sadly. We also sent them back with regret. – Venkatesh, Sr Programme Manager, FSL India

Note: In total, FSL India successfully evacuated 59 volunteers, (Germany – 51, France – 3, Sweden – 3, Finland – 1, Italy – 1), working in our projects across South India, i.e. Kundapur, Mangalore, Mysore, Bangalore, Chennai and Pondicherry
