Environmental Rally at Mavinakatte Village – “To Conserve our Nature for our Future”

On 17th February, FSL-India’s HBP team and the MSW students from the Master of Social Work Department of Government First Grade College, Tenkanidiyoor visited the Mavinakatte Higher Primary School. Their purpose was to create an awareness about the environmental issues among the village people, along with the schoolchildren which we are facing in our daily life, such as plastic, deforestation, harming the flora and fauna, garbage, pollution etc. A few days before the skit, the MSW students prepared the skit’s storyline and they practiced the skit along with the work camp volunteers.

On the campaign day, the volunteers, schoolchildren. teachers and MSW students participated in the campaign. The rally started from the school, and it went to the Mavinakatte circle. The children were holding flipcharts with environmental thoughts flipchart and shouting slogans about the conservation of Nature.

The volunteers and children were all gathered together in a circle and they performed the skit well for the people of the community. In the skit, they showed how humans continue to destroy and pollute Nature. Due to this, there are many natural calamities caused by the negative behaviour of humans towards Nature.

So, for all these reasons, we are facing a lot of health problems and the global warming is going to be more harmful to us. In our skit, FSL-India’s team presented all the critical positions that we are already facing, right now.

The performance of the skit was greatly appreciated by the public and the children also, were interested about the skit and enjoyed themselves with the volunteers. It has made them think about how they can contribute to the conservation of our Nature.                            .
