Cultural Event Chennai & Mysore Dec 2016

In the month of December 2016, FSL India LTV Bangalore region organized for a Cultural Event (CE) at Mysore and Kanchi zone under different Theme.

Mysore: Theme: Historical Monuments: In the Mysore zone there was three volunteers who participated in the CE. They began their journey from the meeting point and visited visited Indira Gandhi museum, also popularly known as (IGRMS) or national Museum of Humankind. In the afternoon they had lunch together after which our Coordinator had 1 to 1 talk with volunteers about project and host family.

Kanchipuram: Theme: Historical monuments:  In the Kanchi zone there was two volunteers who participated in the CE and they visited St. Thomas Mount is a small hillock located in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India, near Guindy. The Mount is known locally as “Peria Malai” or “Prangi Malai”. In the afternoon they had lunch together after which our Coordinator had 1 to 1 talk with volunteers about project and host family.

 Feedback from Volunteers

Today we visited the Indira Gandhi museum in Mysore. It was really nice especially because we were able to choose what we want to see next so the cultural event was very useful for us.

This cultural event we visit Indira Gandhi museum. It was really nice interesting to see more about the Indian history and its art the sculptures impressed me.

Today I and other 2 volunteers and Shruthi met for Indira Gandhi museum it was a very interesting and fascinating to learn even more about Indian culture we had lunch together in Mysore.

Nice place to see the whole Chennai city from this place and we came to know about Indian culture through the Cultural Event.

We were happy for this visit because here we can see the peaceful environment and also we came to know about the history of St. Thomas Mount. We like the configuration of the church.
