Marta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">My name is Marta, I have been doing an internship in FSL-India Kundapur for\u00a06 months and I will try to \u201cput in paper\u201d my experience all over this time.\u00a0The project I work for is SAP-K, based in FSL training centre in Shetrakatte,\u00a0rural area on the Southeast coast on India. SAP-K stands for Sustainable\u00a0Agriculture Project- Kundapur and its main idea is to evolve a model of\u00a0sustainable agriculture for a sustainable livelihood. We visit farmers who\u00a0already carry out organic farming, we learn from them, put it into practice in\u00a0our training centre and next step is to share this knowledge with the local\u00a0community so, the beautiful thing is that, when volunteers or interns leave,\u00a0the knowledge stays with the children, farmers or local community we have\u00a0been working with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398316390.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9932 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398316390.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"313\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398273210.jpg\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9933 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398423528.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"176\" height=\"176\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This project has helped me to learn to appreciate even the smallest progress,\u00a0take pride on the small improvements and to know how hard it is sometimes\u00a0to raise awareness among community members.\u00a0Before coming to India I had\u00a0many fears about my performance at work and\u00a0Indian culture, people and food among others. Nowadays, all my fears are\u00a0gone. Thanks to my coordinator and team\u2019s support, I feel really confident at work, Indian people and culture are lovely and food is incredibly tasty and\u00a0safe!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9939 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/WP_20150605_080.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"289\" height=\"163\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG-20151110-WA0011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9938 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG-20151110-WA0011.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"220\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I love spending my free time with local people and this EVS placement has\u00a0given me the chance to experience what I call \u201cthe deep Indian experience\u201d.\u00a0People here (from colleagues to local people) have opened me their houses\u00a0and welcomed me as one member more of their family, they have let me\u00a0take part in very important moments of their family lives and they have\u00a0highly supported me since the first day. Indian people are a really caring and\u00a0lovely community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG-20150819-WA0023.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9937 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG-20150819-WA0023.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"258\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG-20150712-WA0014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9936 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG-20150712-WA0014.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"343\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I must say my experience in India has made me grow not only professionally\u00a0but also emotionally given all the challenges you have to face in this country\u00a0coming from Europe. You have to get used to new clothes, food flavours,\u00a0weather (from extreme heat to monsoon storms), power cuts, way of\u00a0expressing your feelings, attitude towards work and life in general, people\u00a0looking at you as if you came from the outer space\u2026<a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398650984.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9934 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398650984.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"280\" height=\"210\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9935 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398797218.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"237\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I must say if I already\u00a0considered myself to be low judgmental before coming to India, I am even\u00a0less nowadays as this country makes you realize that your approach to\u00a0EVERYTHING IN LIFE (work, religion, food habits, clothing) might be <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9931 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/FB_IMG_1447398273210.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-My experience\" width=\"192\" height=\"248\" \/>different\u00a0but not better or worse to others and you are nobody to impose your point of<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">view to others\u2019 ones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India is a country of colours, smells, contrasts, smiles, crazy long travel\u00a0distances, amazing landscapes and sunsets<br \/>\nbut, if there is something I will\u00a0really miss back home, will be its people: locals, colleagues and all those\u00a0people who have made my experience something amazingly different.\u00a0Overall, my Indian experience has been so positive, rewarding and fruitful\u00a0that, however I should go back home beginning of December, I will try to go\u00a0back later because I do not exactly what it is but this country has something\u00a0that does not let me go\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My name is Marta, I have been doing an internship in FSL-India Kundapur for\u00a06 months and I will try to \u201cput in paper\u201d my experience all over this time.\u00a0The project I work for is SAP-K, based in FSL training centre in Shetrakatte,\u00a0rural area on the Southeast coast on India.
