Although we only lived there for four weeks, it felt like coming home after a long time for us. Everybody was happy to see us and so were we.\u00a0With the two other volunteers we lived with, we spent the time with our family and many other people of the village. Because the weather was cold and rainy, we spent most of our time in the kitchen room, playing cards, the guitar, or just talking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SAM_0017.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9823 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SAM_0019.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-Diwali celebration\" width=\"229\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG_20150914_084743.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9820 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG_20150914_084743.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-Diwali celebration\" width=\"278\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also we had the possibility to help our host mother in the kitchen and so we were able to learn how to make chappatis and some delicious Diwali snacks.\u00a0Something very special for us was Thursday evening of Diwali, when the whole village celebrated the festival with fireworks and firecrackers and also oil lamps that decorated every house. Because of the cold weather and all the lights the atmosphere was pretty special.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG_20150914_090937.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9821 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/IMG_20150914_090937.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-Diwali celebration\" width=\"311\" height=\"181\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9822 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/SAM_0017.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteer-India-Diwali celebration\" width=\"312\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Diwali evening every family prepared an extraordinary dinner and big God`s tables with fruits, sweets, flowers and other special items which were immolated. Also here everything was lit up very nicely. Part of the ceremony was that the family members did a \u201cPooja\u201d with incense sticks and a small bell.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We celebrated this special night in three different houses, which is why we were very satisfied and happy at the end of the night.With great memories and unforgettable moments we all went to sleep.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We enjoyed our time and hope to see our family soon!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two weeks ago we traveled to our beloved village Kirehalli in Hassan District.
