{"id":9393,"date":"2015-09-08T15:52:19","date_gmt":"2015-09-08T10:22:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/?p=9393"},"modified":"2015-09-08T15:52:19","modified_gmt":"2015-09-08T10:22:19","slug":"clean-lalbagh-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/clean-lalbagh-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;CLEAN LALBAGH CAMPAIGN&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Lalbagh: from a \u2018garbage show\u2019 to a cleaner flower show<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For the past three years the YDP-B (<em>Youth Development Program<\/em>&#8211; Bangalore), a program of FSL-India, has been committed in cleaning Lalbagh, the immense botanical garden very loved by all Bangalore citizens. During the flower show which took place in the occasion of the \u00a0Independence day, Lalbagh attracts lakhs of visitors and is filled with colors, curious faces, families, children, fruit and ice-cream vendors: \u00a0a traditional and important ritual for the whole city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-9395\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_0122-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0122\" width=\"273\" height=\"182\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-9398\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_0300-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0300\" width=\"272\" height=\"181\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The massive presence of crowd in that day generates more\u00a0garbage in the park: empty plastic bottles, used dishes, banana peels, cups, napkins, paper lying next to the yellow flower\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0s and the red roses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the 15<sup>th<\/sup> and 16<sup>th<\/sup> of August, more than 40 volunteers from the YDP, in collaboration with SAAHAS, \u2018zero waste\u2019 solutions, were engaged in spreading awareness about waste management, approaching directly to families, youths, children asking them to use the dustbins, to respect the nature they were enjoying, and there were many of them interested to take part in our cleaning activity so we also given gloves and bags to the public to join in our cleaning campaigns<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-9396\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_0151-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0151\" width=\"267\" height=\"178\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-9394\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_0008-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0008\" width=\"267\" height=\"178\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">More than 700 people, from 5 years old children to elder people, were actively committed to our cause, and helped in picking up only dry waste (paper and plastic) from the ground, waste that will be recycled by SAAHAS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">7000 liters of trash have been raised from the lawns and the streets of Lalbagh and thousands of people heard our message: use dustbins, don\u2019t litter, segregate the garbage, recycle and don\u2019t waste\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-9397\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/DSC_0261-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0261\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Don\u2019t be a waste fellow if you want a better, cleaner and happier India!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lalbagh: from a \u2018garbage show\u2019 to a cleaner flower show For the past three years the YDP-B (Youth Development Program&#8211; Bangalore), a program of FSL-India, has been committed in cleaning Lalbagh, the immense botanical garden very loved by all Bangalore citizens.
