Right now everything is going well and I can say that the last month has been the best since I came here – let’s see how the March will be;) As I am teaching in a school, there will be long summer holidays soon, and when the first month in my project was over, I wanted it to be April to finally have my summer holidays. Well and know I am thinking nearly every day, that so much time is already over and due to the summer holidays, there are really only some weeks left in school. But actually I am happy that I feel like that now, everything else would be quite sad! I live in a small village and I have to say that my host family and the neighbors are the best aspect of my life in India now.

I feel so much “at home” when I come back from school, talking with the neighbors, just going to someone’s house when it’s boring or attending functions together. Now I also understand quite a lot in Kannada, so communication is not really a problem. And I am so happy to live on the countryside with plants and animals around me and not in a big city. Of course there are still some things that will always be strange to me or some moments where I feel that this is not really my home – “only” for that one year now. And as I like it so much, I am really in certain if I should travel more or not. I still have so much holidays I could take but I always have the feeling that I will miss something in my village. And going on a trip every months shows so directly that I am not really living her, cause no one else from my village is going for a trip so often… So I guess I will enjoy most of the time here. Because coming back to India for travelling is always possible, but I will never again really have my home, my work and my life here… Sounds as if the year was already over But no, before going back in July, I will try to enjoy every single day, even in school where there are some days where I really don’t like the children at all 😉 (I have to admit, I still have some problems with teaching, but actually I only see the school situation “problematic” because I compare it to the situation in my host family, which is just perfect ). So generally, all is fine and I am looking forward to see the other volunteers on our Evaluation in two weeks. Bye for now!

Hey all Blog followers, I am Paulina and I am staying in Karnataka since September, so now half of the time – 5,5 Months – is just over.
