This year, the workshops took place seven zones; Hunsur, Bangalore, Pondicherry, Chennai, Kundapur, Mulky and Sirsi during the month of January. Joining the FSL-India team were two external trainers who facilitated the following objectives of the workshops by means of experiential learning. A total of <strong>177 participants benefited<\/strong> from these workshops.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"> \u00a0The objectives of the workshops were:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><i>To sensitize host families on intercultural aspects so that they can:<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li><i>\u00a0Facilitate learning amongst volunteers<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Promote hosting international volunteers in their own communities<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><i>To improve the capacity of contact persons so that they can:<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Provide technical and non-technical support to volunteers<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>\u00a0Improve their understanding of the Weltwaerts program objectives<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/2014\/03\/host-family-and-contact-person-workshop-2014\/ws-pondi-1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6946\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6946 aligncenter\" alt=\"WS Pondi (1)\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/WS-Pondi-1-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Every year, the long-term volunteering team at FSL-India hosts its annual Host Family and Contact Person Workshops across South India.
