The volunteers involved in building Turtle Information Centre (TIC) huts along the beach with the help of local and fishermen community. Volunteers were engaged in activities with children and local community with the help of the team leader to promote awareness on Environment and conservation of Sea Turtles \u2013 through Beach walks, Puppet shows, Mural Paintings etc.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/2012\/12\/sea-turtle-winter-camp-report\/2-90\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5867\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-5867\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/25-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"158\" \/><\/span><\/a>During the work camp volunteers could build a Turtle information center at Maravanthe village in front of Mr. Dasi&#8217;s house who is a main contact person for the sea turtle conservation project. They were able to draw two Murals at Maravanthe village &#8211; one at the fishermen road and one in the main bus station of Maravanthe village on the national highway. Apart from the TIC and mural painting, volunteers performed a puppet show for the fisher community in KodiKanyana village explaining threats to the sea turtles, eggs and their hatchings. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">It was a nice and new experience for all the volunteers who participated. Some suggested for local volunteer&#8217;s participation in the winter camp.
