The \u201cHappy Move Global Youth Volunteers\u201d Camp is a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative sponsored by HMC Korea (Hyundai Motor Company) and supported by FSL-India (Field Services and Intercultural Learning) and, IWO Korea (International Workcamp Organization. The 1<\/span><\/span><\/span>st<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> Happy Move Camp was conducted in July 2008 and is held every six months.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201c6<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> Happy Move Camp\u201d started on the 18<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> of January in Chennai and concluded on the 15<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> of February in Delhi. A total of 225 Korean volunteers arrived in 2 batches, along with a group of 15 Korean doctors. Each batch stays for a period of 2 weeks. The volunteers participated in organizing medical camps and health awareness campaigns, as well as education and renovation work in schools and villages located in Chennai and Delhi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Until now all the 5 Happy Move Camps were held in Chennai. This year for the first time, one batch of the Happy Move Camp is being held in Delhi. Another distinct feature of this camp is the participation of University students from Chennai and Delhi. Indian University students were introduced in this camp to promote Intercultural learning and to encourage dialogue between Korean and Indian participants.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1<\/span><\/span><\/span>st<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> Batch in Chennai \u2013 18<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> January to 30<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> January – 134 Korean volunteers; 15 Korean doctors; 26 University students from Chennai. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2<\/span><\/span><\/span>nd<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> Batch in Delhi – 5<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> February to 15<\/span><\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><\/span> February \u2013 91 Korean volunteers; 19 University students from Delhi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Through the Happy Move Camps, not only would the volunteers be able to make a small but meaningful contribution to the local communities of Chennai and Delhi, but it would also offer young Korean\/Indian college students an opportunity to understand Indian\/Korean community and culture as well as recognize their responsibilities as a global citizen. <\/span><\/span>The program not only intends to serve the communities of selected villages through Volunteering, but it also facilitates Youth Exchange and promotes Inter-cultural Learning between Korean Youth and the Local Community of Chennai and Delhi. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
