This was the day in 1973, when all\nthe Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the\nstate of \u2018\u2018Karnataka.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/received_453582605272735-1024x512.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17987\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In memory of that day, we celebrated\nKannada Rajyotsava Day along with FSL India\u2019s &nbsp;volunteers, locals and children at Baikadi\nTent School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"578\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG-20191106-WA0016-578x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17984\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Rajyotsava day is\ncelebrated with great joy and vigour all over the state of Karnataka. The\nentire state wears a festive look on this day, as the red and yellow Kannada\nflags are hoisted at different strategic locations across the state and the\nKannada anthem (&#8220;<em>Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate<\/em>&#8220;) is chanted.\nThe flag is hoisted at political party offices and several localities, even as\nyouth in many areas take out processions on two wheelers. Religion not being a\nfactor, the Rajyotsava is celebrated by&nbsp;Hindus, Muslims and Christians as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/received_803912376692100.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17988\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a pleasure to celebrate our state\u2019s formation day\nwith the children. This celebration has brought knowledge to the children about\nKarnataka state, its people, unity and language.
