I\u2019m\nSophie von Rohden, a 19 year old volunteer from Germany. I have started as a\nvolunteer at FSL India\u2019s Tent School project in the month of September 2019, at\nBaikady Tent community.        <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIn the beginning, there were around 7 children who were coming more or less\nregularly to the Tent School. Right now, there are 5 children who are regularly\ncoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharavathi,\nwho is a teacher and I started with teaching the English alphabet as well as\nnumbers and simple English questions. Sharavathi also started to teach the\nKannada letters and writing. I am also involved in teaching every day a short\nlesson in discipline and hygiene,  such\nas cutting their nails, brushing their teeth and washing their faces, hands and\nfeet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nestablished one drawing lesson per week, which will take place every Friday.\nThe children can get creative and learn necessary motor skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nSeptember, we put the FSL India initiated project of painting the walls of the\nTent School into execution. Where grey metal walls were before, are now, thanks\nto the great help of many volunteers, beautiful, colourful walls that make the School\nlook a lot more inviting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FSL\nIndia was also able to provide school uniforms for the Tent School children,\nwhich we have distributed to them. They seemed really excited about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
