My name is Yellappa. I am 12 years old. My father Yemmannurappa is a mason and my\nmother Gangamma is a labourer. We live in the Baikady Tent Community. My\nparents came to Kundapur from Katapur to look for work some years ago. I could\nnot attend regular school because there was no one to advise my parents on the\nimportance of education and also, there was no school close by. So, my parents\ndecided to send me to FSL-India\u2019s Tent School, which is within our community\u2019s\narea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From 2014-2017, I attended the Tent School and was taught\nthe English and Kannada alphabets, Maths, physical education, nursery rhymes,\nnames of vegetables and how to improve my memory with memory games. I was\ninterested in learning more, so I learnt enough to enrol in the 4th<\/sup>\nStd at Government Primary School, Aradi (Kundapur Taluk).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here, I am studying Social Studies, Hindi, Science, Maths,\nPhysical Education, English and Kannada. I also learnt to play cricket and\nthrowball. My mother asks me everyday what I learnt at school today and I tell\nher about my day.
