Paula, Luka, Tabea and I went \u00a0to an orphanage called De Mercedes orphanage in Deralakatte, near Mangalore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"525\" height=\"700\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Drawing-acivities..jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16614\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Drawing-acivities..jpg 525w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Drawing-acivities.-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Drawing-acivities.-203x270.jpg 203w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our tasks were to teach some English or Maths to the children, paint the\nwindows on the roof as well as some cupboards, to stitch the uniforms for the\nchildren for the new school year, and to play with them in their free time. We\nplayed some Indian games like \u2018Lagori\u2019, as well as some activities like a\ntreasure hunt and some dancing classes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"487\" height=\"650\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Kids-Music-class.-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16621\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Kids-Music-class.-1.jpg 487w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Kids-Music-class.-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Kids-Music-class.-1-202x270.jpg 202w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There were about 10-15 children in the orphanage, but the number changed continually.
