{"id":15938,"date":"2019-05-18T14:07:47","date_gmt":"2019-05-18T08:37:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/?p=15938"},"modified":"2019-05-18T14:08:55","modified_gmt":"2019-05-18T08:38:55","slug":"summer-camp-at-fsl-indias-cel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/summer-camp-at-fsl-indias-cel\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Camp at FSL-India\u2019s CEL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0088-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15948\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From 11<sup>th<\/sup>\nto 13<sup>th<\/sup> of April, FSL-India\u2019s staff and volunteers conducted a\nsummer camp at our Centre for Experiential Living, Shettrakatte with the\nsupport of the Social Work students from Milagres College, Kallianpur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0111-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15957\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0087-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15961\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On 11<sup>th<\/sup>\nApril morning, FSL-India\u2019s staff welcomed around 80 kids of different ages, and\nin the circle everybody played fun energiser games and shared their names with\nthe group: a nice atmosphere was created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0151-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15960\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0105-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15951\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the first\nday, the children got to explore all the projects run by FSL-India. Here, they discovered\nmore about pest control, the effects on people and environment, an insect\u2019s\nlife cycle, as well as the natural alternatives people can use in agriculture.\nThey also learned about the sea turtle\u2019s life and the current actions connected\nto the ocean pollution. It was very interesting for them, as they had the\nchance to fulfil their curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_162546-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15946\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_161020-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15944\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, the\nchildren participated in the topic of \u2018Equality\u2019. Also, an \u2018Equal Society\u2019\nperformance was carried out by them in groups: creative and impressive dramas\nwere shown on the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_160803-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15942\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_160803-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_160803-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_160803-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_160803-360x270.jpg 360w, https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_160803.jpg 1815w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_160847-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15943\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Secondly,\nFSL-India\u2019s staff shared with the children some plastic crafts: the irrigation\nbottle, the sea turtle and jellyfish creations from which they could get some\ninspirations. The day after, many of them came with more plastic craft ideas, e.g.\nflowers, flowerpots and pen holders. Each of them could present to the group\ntheir design and everybody discovered wonderful and new ways to reuse plastic\nbottles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0093-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15950\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0115-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15959\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the third\nday, FSL-India\u2019s staff organised some fun group activities. The children played\nin the water, they participated in a huge garbage collection race and they took\npart in a quiz, where finally everybody got tasty chocolate candies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0108-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15953\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190412_110601-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15939\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The students\nhad also some individual time for writing a letter to someone special, as well\nas making a bracelet for an unknown person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/20190413_162319-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15945\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0109-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15954\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Everybody enjoyed\nthe experience, the food and the location a lot. Each of the students received\nthe Certificate of Participation in the summer camp and a cotton bag from FSL-India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0107-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15952\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0110_1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15956\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally,\neach of them got a leaf where they could express their opinions and feelings\nabout their experience of the summer camp: a colourful tree appeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSC_0090-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15949\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was really a wonderful time for the children, as well as for the FSL-India team in planning the schedule, the materials and also collaborating together: it was a grand success! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special thanks to \u201cRecogida De Fondues for India\u201d who\ndecided to sponsor the Summer Camp.
