{"id":15782,"date":"2019-05-08T11:01:41","date_gmt":"2019-05-08T05:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/?p=15782"},"modified":"2019-05-08T17:17:54","modified_gmt":"2019-05-08T11:47:54","slug":"cultural-event-in-kundapur-for-the-fsl-india-volunteers-holi-celebration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/cultural-event-in-kundapur-for-the-fsl-india-volunteers-holi-celebration\/","title":{"rendered":"Cultural Event at Kundapur for the FSL-India Volunteers: Holi Celebration!!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On\nthe 22nd of March, 3 FSL-India volunteers Hannan, Linda and Orane had the super\noccasion to participate in the Cultural Event organized by FSL-India at Kundapura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/IMG-20190323-WA0025.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15784\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nHoli Celebration is called also as the Festival of love and colours. It starts\nevery year by ligting up the bonfire the night before the day of Holi and this\nprocess symbolises the triumph of good over bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nvolunteers met at 10 am with FSL-India\u2019S Chief Coordiator, Dinesh at the Shri\nMahakali temple in Kharvikeri area of Kundapura, where everything was ready for\nthe Holi celebration. Everything was organised by the Kharvi, the fishermen\nCommunity living nearby the Kundapura river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many\ndifferent powder colours were ready to be thrown to each other, and the\natmosphere was very happy and shining. Many people welcomed very warmly the\nvolunteers with applying to their faces many colours and inviting them to do the\nsame to their faces, and saying\u201cHappy Holi!\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Holy-with-Kids.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15783\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\nwas a really joyful and enjoying moment, especially looking at the people\nsmiling with a lot of colours everywhere: on their face, hair, nose and even in\nthe eyes and in the mouth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After\nhaving a nice lunch, the volunteers, as well as the family members and friends\nof Dinesh,dressed up in white and orange colours, respresenting the costume of\nthe group. Everybody was getting ready for the human parade starting from\nKharvikeri, in order to reach Kundapura city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At\naround 4 o\u2019clock, the people started walking in a huge human line, girls and\nboys in different groups, throwing colours at each other and dancing behind big\nmusic boxes carried by vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nvolunteers enjoyed the parade a lot, the atmosphere, the joyfulness of people,\nas well as the Kannada dance with the girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Temple-Holi-Pooja.-e1557293350231.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15786\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a beautiful, unforgettable day and the\nvolunteers are glad to have had the chance of experiencing\nthe Holi Festival at Kundapura, with the Karvi Community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the 22nd of March, 3 FSL-India volunteers Hannan, Linda and Orane had the super occasion to participate in the Cultural Event organized by FSL-India at Kundapura.
