Twice every year, we facilitate the Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) programme of the Education University of Hong Kong for their students, with cultural exposure in Karnataka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0759-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15695\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0843-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15699\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0804-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15696\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From the 20<sup>th<\/sup>-31<sup>st<\/sup> March this year, 15 students visited India with a focus on intercultural learning. They toured Mysore and also Bangalore, absorbing the rich heritage of these cities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0837-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15698\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0754-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15693\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0846-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15702\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to this, they volunteered their services at the Sarkari Kiriya Prathamika Patashale at Venkatagiri Kote, Devanahalli Taluk. The students worked on renovating the school\u2019s classrooms by painting educational murals on the walls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0950-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15724\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0943-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15723\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0935-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15722\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nThey also taught basic English to the school\u2019s children from 4<sup>th<\/sup>-7<sup>th<\/sup> Standards, using non-formal methods like games and art. \n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0691-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15713\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0707-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15714\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0728-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15715\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hong Kong students were from\ndifferent educational fields &#8211; Computer Science, Law, English, etc. They threw\nthemselves whole-heartedly into this new experience, developed their leadership\nskills and put their problem-solving skills to good use by tackling the\nchallenges faced by them, head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0739-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15717\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0983-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15719\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the children and the students\nenjoyed themselves thoroughly and benefited immensely both from the activities\nand the intercultural exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0729-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15716\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"725\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/school-letter-2-725x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15728\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We received constructive support from\nthe Education Department, local community including the Panchayath leader and\nthe village youth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/fsl-india.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DSCN0994-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15748\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FSL-India is a youth development organisation which promotes both national as well as international volunteering.
