On the 15th<\/sup> of February, FSL-India\u2019s, Sea Turtle Conservation project volunteers Emil and Melina and their Coordinator, Manjunath B went to the Government Higher Primary School at Koravadi village to create awareness on Sea Turtle Conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a very small and peaceful school with 208 children amidst nature, nearby the beach. FSL-India\u2019s team conducted a drawing competition at the school and 36 children from the 6th<\/sup> and 7th<\/sup> Standards took part in the drawing competition. The 6th<\/sup> Standard children had the assignment to draw the food chain of the sea turtle. The volunteers were very surprised by the results because the students were very creative. The FSL-India team also liked the colours of the drawings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 7th<\/sup> Standard had to draw the dangers faced by the sea turtles. It was nice to see that the students remembered almost everything from the presentation. The students could point out the dangers very well, so in the pictures you saw the dangers clearly. It was very hard to choose the first and second places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Koravadi School, on 25th<\/sup> of February, the FSL-India team conducted a clay modelling competition, creating a sea turtle out of the clay. For this competition, there were 37 children who took part in it. The children from 5th<\/sup> to 7th<\/sup> Standards created wonderful sea turtle models. Although the children were quite exhausted at the end of the competition, they were also joyful about creating the sea turtles. At the end, the winners received rewards for their efforts in the competition.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally everyone took a group picture and it was a memorable moment with the children. The children were very happy to participate in the competitions and enjoyed themselves very much. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
